I was born in California and raised in Oregon. In my youth soccer, music, building, and adventuring occupied all my energy. Eventually, education and learning became a priority. Today, I am a thinker, a builder, an educator, and a creative. I am also an “Army dad” of a son who served in the Army’s 3rd US Infantry Regiment, also known as the “The Old Guard.”
My first visit to Arlington National Cemetery had a big impact on me. My book Where Honor Dwells: Ways Arlington National Cemetery Impacts People Toward Honor is born out of my observations on how visitors respond to the missions, ceremonies, and initiatives at Arlington.
